Exercise towards more muscle and a leaner body mass to melt away the stubborn fats.

How Does Exercise Contribute to Fat-burning?

The body is already set to be a fat-melting machine. All it needs is a tune up to get it revving at optimal efficiency to start zapping more fat. This is where exercise come into play. Much like how a car uses fuel, your body would need to burn carbs and fat in order to function. When you exercise, you are able to burn more fat because this activity requires more energy to accomplish.

As you workout, your body converts fat into fuel and uses it for your working muscles. Alternatively, the less activity you do, the more energy is stored in your body, hence fat accumulates.   2. It cuts inches not pounds. Weighing scales do not always tell the whole truth. While you may have lost fat, the number on your scale may not show it. This is because when you exercise, you shed fat and gain lean muscle. So if, for example, you lost 3 pounds of fat and gained 2 pounds of muscle, you have actually experienced a 5-pound improvement, despite the scale showing only 1 lb. of weight loss.
  3. It suppresses emotional eating. Time and time again, exercise has been proven to help regulate mood. This has direct effect on individuals who tend to binge eat when they are upset or stressed. Exercise can put you in a good mood. If you feel great, you no longer have any reason to stuff yourself with food to feel better because you already found your happy place.
  4. It produces a healthy chain reaction. One positive change leads to another. Once you start exercising and begin to see results, the tendency is to follow through it by making improvements in other aspects of your life like eating better.
  5. It ceases hunger and ups self-restraint. Ever noticed how when you work out you feel less hungry? That’s what exercise does to your mind. When you combine vigorous exercise to a strict diet, maintaining it becomes easy. In addition, you have higher resistance to binge eating when you exercise.
  6. It boosts your energy. A physical activity ups your stamina by increasing the production of certain neurotransmitters in the body. This neurotransmitters promote energy, which in turn gives you more motivation to get moving and burn more fat.
  7. It brings excitement. Obviously, getting into active sports is way more fun than eating green peas. Exercise does not have to be a choir. Think of it as a hobby. Better yet, a lifestyle.
